This year VarCity will be hosted at the fantastic Bar 360 of Chalets du Thorens. From lunchtime every day you can rock up, enjoy cheap drinks, some food on the house, get some giveaway items and join the unreal atmosphere. We are providing free entertainment and the freedom to dance on tables ‘till the sun goes down. A very short easy green run will lead you into the heart of resort afterwards. But with such a collection of food, friends and full-volume tunes why would you ever want to leave?
Bar 360 at Chalet du Thorens is known for its amazing atmosphere and insane music. Live DJs will be pumping tunes here every day. And with Varsity Trip in town there may even be one or two music acts you won't want to miss - you’ll just have to wait and see. We will also be putting on a diversity of entertainment so don’t worry if DJs are not your favorite thing. Even poi fire dancers will be making an appearance. With a big crowd and plenty of atmosphere you’ll find yourself dancing on the tables in no time – make sure you don’t miss out.
After a hard morning on the slopes what could be better than free food? Not much. Which is why, if you’re on time for lunch every day, this year it’s on us!
But if you’re after something a bit different we’ve managed to secure some great prices on a variety of foodstuffs with les Chalets du Thorens. The location has a huge indoor area where you can sit down in the warmth and order a hot drink or some seriously substantial dishes of French cuisine. Outside there is a super-tasty wok stand and great value waffle stand, so you can munch away to your hearts content any time of day. And if it’s just a quick snack you’re after there will be chocolate bars and crisps behind the bar.
Whilst we would never advise skiing (or snowboarding!) under the influence, a cold pint, or a warm mulled wine, is the perfect way to relax your ski legs. We have therefore stocked plenty of both, just flash your Varsity Trip wristband for some especially low prices.
VarCity this year is at the incredible Bar 360 and Chalet du Thorens complex. It is based just up the slope from resort. Its really not far - and you can walk - but it’s a tiring, unnecessary, uphill stroll so we strongly advise popping into a pair of skis, getting on the lift from town and tootling down the 100m on virtually flat snow. With plenty of Varsity Trip banners it’s hard to miss and even complete beginners will have no problems getting there after their first lesson on Sunday.
And if you are feeling a bit daring, VarCity will also also have its very own airbag. You can test your airborne skills safely surrounded by the buzzing atmosphere of the crowd. We will also hopefully be putting in a rail and kicker. So if you want to get to grips with some basic freestyle tricks this is the place to be. You may even want to enter the freestyle competition here (snow permitting) on Thursday afternoon. But if entering sounds a bit ambitious then make sure to stick around to watch. There is sure to be a great crowd, food, drink, music, some jaw-dropping stunts and quite possibly some spectacular falls.
