Insurance Options
Insurance is an important necessity when embarking on any trip abroad, especially a skiing or snowboarding holiday. It's not glamorous or exciting, but it is necessary; in fact, we can't let you travel without an adequate policy in place. Fortunately, our tour operator Off The Piste offer a number of insurance options so you don't have to worry about finding cover.
Whilst we do not insist that you take “OTP” travel insurance, the booking terms and conditions do require that you have an adequate policy in place if travelling outside of the United Kingdom. If you fail to provide information with regards to an alternative policy when requested, your booking maybe at risk.
Basic Medical Cover (£250 excess)
This level of coverage is included in the basic package. Please Note that Basic Medical Cover does not cover items such as: cancellation or curtailment, personal belongings, personal money, personal accident, legal expenses, personal liability and piste closure. Essential Travel Policy (£200 excess)
The Essential Travel Policy is an upgrade available at the cost of £15.00. For the Key Facts Summary of the Essential Policy please click here. You can also upgrade to a no-excess Essential Insurance Policy for £30.
Comprehensive Travel Policy (£200 excess)
The Comprehensive Travel Policy is available as an £18.00 upgrade. For the Key Facts Summary of the Essential Policy please click here. You will only be allowed to compete in race events if you have this level of coverage, or an equivalent policy. A no-excess version of this policy is available for £36.
Off The Piste highly recommends that you take the Full Wintersports policy, for the following reasons:
- Extremely good value – you won’t find a more extensive cover for a lower price.
- Peace of mind in resort – our resort staff know exactly how it works and who to speak to in the case of an accident.
- Widely accepted in the majority of resort medical centres.
- Quality customer service and after sales care, with staff who are familiar with our policy.

Own insurance
As stated above, you may prefer to use your own insurance policy if it provides an adequate level of coverage. Details of your alternative policy will be required prior to departure; if you fail to provide information with regards to an alternative policy when requested, your booking maybe at risk. There is a £5 rebate for traveling with your own insurance.
