Val Thorens is famous across the Alps for its nightlife. Whether you’re after that cosy pub atmosphere or want to dance the night away in the largest club in the Alps, there’s something there for you.
Saloon is famous across Val Thorens for its relatively low prices, and, with Varsity Trip participants receiving special discounts, this is common bar in which to begin an evening’s entertainment. The jugs of Long Island Iced Tea are a particular favourite of its regular customers… at least until the next morning! This also will be one of the main venues for Wednesday’s Live Night.
Just up the hill from Saloon lies this quintessentially British pub, with food on offer during the day, Sky Sports available on its televisions and discounted prices available in the evenings. Grab some proper cooked meals here mid-week to keep yourself healthy and content.
Located within the Temples du Soleil complex, this is the perfect bar at which to meet up with friends and grab a cold one before you venture further up into the centre of resort. It also has some intriguing decorations…
With a very central location, just down the road from Malaysia and a couple of flights of stairs above the sports hall, Baramix is difficult to avoid during Varsity Trip. Add to that the friendly staff, ever-present drinks deals and cozy atmosphere and it’s impossible to see why you’d want to! Downstairs, meanwhile, is a dance floor, a bar and a couple of poles. What more could you want?
The official after-party venue for Varsity Trip 2011, Malaysia looks like an unassuming hut located in the Main Square of Val Thorens. Beneath the snow, however, lies the largest club in the Alps, giving free entry to Varsity Trip participants every day of the trip. You’ll always be able to find fellow students in the early hours if you’re not quite ready for bed!
Brand new for Varsity Trip 2011! This latest addition to the Val Thorens club scene promises to bring a touch of elegance to the resort, with some impressive décor, a brilliant location just opposite Saloon, and even food available in an upstairs restaurant! Make sure to visit this latest addition to resort.
If you find yourself directly below Saloon, enjoying the same cheap drinks but with louder music, more floor space and some subterranean lighting then you’re doubtless in Downunder. Enjoy!
Located just down the road from Saloon, Summit makes up for in atmosphere what it may lack in space, and with incredibly cheap drinks, plenty of bars nearby and some top DJs this has always been a very popular venue for Varsity Trip regulars.
